We have 30+ years experience in designing bars, restaurants, pubs and multi-use buildings.
Noise is an important matter for developers of bars, restaurants, pubs, nightclubs etc. Noise assessment for planning approval or licensing purposes is often required to demonstrate that noise is adequately controlled and will have minimum impact on the neighbouring buildings. This includes noise breakout from music, noise from mechanical services plant and activity noise such as customers on outdoor terraces. Noise from mechanical services often requires a BS4142 noise assessment to establish the impact on new items of plant to the surrounding noise sensitive buildings.
As well as planning noise assessments for new venues, GS Acoustic Design can help where the client is seeking to discharge planning conditions or to renew the license for an existing venue.
Where nightclubs, bars, restaurants and cinemas are located in the same building or adjacent to noise sensitive rooms such as residential dwellings or hotels, GS Acoustic Design consultants provide advice on sound insulation for walls, floors and ceilings to effectively reduce noise transmission to neighbours. This includes new construction or refurbishment buildings.
We can also assess noise exposure of staff working in noisy environment in order to comply with Noise at Work Regulations.
